I read about classified ads, real life humor and it reminded me of something:
For some years ago a company, with its WHQ in my country (Sweden), called Electrolux, makers of amongst other things vaccum cleaners, used the following in a commercial ad (in the US):
"Nothing sucks like Electrolux."
As I have not seen this myself (only heard from others) I cant really say if this is 100% true, and I dont think it would be appropriate to use it as a joke but it sure is the worst slogan I have ever heard of!
I suppose this is a good example of how a translation from Swedish to English sometimes might be a bad idea (Cant say MY English is as good as it ought to be, though).
